The Haute Route is one – if not the – classic among the multi-day hiking and skiing routes in the high-Alpine region. It takes you from Chamonix to Zermatt. From Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn. In summer it attracts hikers, in winter it attracts ski touring enthusiasts. And whatever the time of year, the Haute Route promises an extra dose of challenge and spectacular views.
You can also do the Haute Route on an e-bike. What sounds like a crazy idea is an adventure for everyone when you actually do it. Yes, even for children. The specialists from FLYER partner E-Alps have created the Haute Route for e-bikes. During the summer months, E-Alps offers seven different tours of varying lengths and levels of difficulty in Valais and Graubünden:
- The classic Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt or the shorter Haute Route from Verbier to Zermatt
The historic route that passes through seven Alpine valleys and connects Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Or in a shortened form, starting in Verbier.
- The Glacier Haute Route
The Tour starts at the Plaine Morte Glacier and ends at the UNESCO Aletsch Glacier. A high route off the beaten track on the most beautiful single trails in the Alps.
- The Haute Route in Graubünden
Definitely a highlight with five passes at over 2,300 meters. The Haute Route in Graubünden leads from Lenzerheide to St. Moritz. A must for lovers of endless flow trails and cozy accommodation.
- The Haute Route of the Three Countries
All the countries on this tour have one thing in common: Mont Blanc as a constant companion. From Verbier to Chamonix through incredible Alpine regions.
- The Family & Friends Haute Route
Easy trails with a magnificent Alpine backdrop. An extraordinary adventure from Vercorin to Zermatt for family and friends.
- Alpine Circle Ruta Vest
An adventurous circular tour from Laax, focusing on fun and discovering the Graubünden Alps.
- Alpine Circle Ruta Ost
A round trip from Chur, focusing on enjoyment and the cultural heritage of the Graubünden Alps.
The history of E-Alps
It all started with two Alpine enthusiasts with a passion for biking. Both strive to experience new adventures in the mountains. It is their passion to discover new routes in the mountains of the Alps. The idea appealed to other like-minded people: A team has grown up around the duo. The team members now handle the logistics of the tours and pass on their knowledge to the participants as qualified guides.
Cooperation between E-Alps and FLYER
When it comes to giving bikers a unique feeling of freedom in nature, a FLYER mountain e-bike is the ideal choice. E-Alps and FLYER have been working together successfully for several years. A collaboration that benefits both sides.
Maxence, founder of E-Alps, on the partnership with FLYER: “As a manufacturer of e-bikes, FLYER is always looking for opportunities for improvement and is always open to launching new projects. The FLYER team is highly qualified and professional. We appreciate the fact that we can always count on FLYER. Especially in the current situation when various e-bike components are proving difficult to deliver worldwide.”
Gina Emmenegger, Head of FLYER Experience and Assistant Head of Marketing, on the cooperation with E-Alps: “E-Alps is a long-standing partner that shares our values and goes that extra mile for our joint customers at all times. Their aim is always to create an unforgettable, authentic FLYER experience tailored to each individual participant’s needs. Once you get the E-Alps bug – I promise you, you’ll never get rid of it!”
FLYER bikes in action on the E-Alps Haute Route
With the Uproc3 and the Uproc6, the E-Alps team relies on two models that anyone can ride without any problems. The two bikes offer a lot of riding comfort and make any ascent child’s play, no matter how steep.
The Haute Route with the Uproc6
Ilona Jeckelmann, Regional Marketing Manager for Switzerland at Bosch E-Bike-Systems, rode the Uproc6 on the Haute Route. She put the e-bike with a Bosch drive through its paces and can look back with satisfaction: “I had a very eventful week and the e-bike provided me with perfect assistance.” The pictures Ilona has of her Haute Route adventure speak for themselves.
