FLYER Upstreet wins Design & Innovation Award 2023

With its versatile Upstreet e-bike, FLYER has won the renowned Design & Innovation Award 2023. This bike industry award is a seal of quality and benchmark for outstanding products. With the new Upstreet, FLYER has won the award in the Urban category. The Upstreet impressed the expert jury with its elegant design, suitability for everyday use, outstanding equipment and intelligent technology.
The new Upstreet from Swiss e-bike pioneer FLYER is quick, smart and ready for any challenge. The jury of the Design & Innovation Award is enthusiastic about the new development from Huttwil and impressively confirms that the Upstreet is the perfect companion in all situations:
“The Upstreet 7.10 from Swiss premium manufacturer FLYER is a sporty, elegant and versatile all-rounder that is unrivaled on the e-bike market. In everyday life, it shines thanks to the smooth ride bikers enjoy, creating a great sense of safety. At night, the FLYER impresses with its lighting system, which is functionally and elegantly integrated in the design stem at the front and in the fender at the rear, as well as the battery port on the side. The ingenious FIT system, with smart solutions such as digital key, GPS navigation and the connection to tire pressure sensors, enables comprehensive everyday use.”

The Upstreet also impresses the experts with its powerful Panasonic GX motor and the long range, which can be extended from the already generous 750 Wh to 1290 Wh with the help of an optional additional battery. The 95 Nm motor “generates great thrust and effortlessly takes the Upstreet 7.10 up any incline, even when towing a 40 kg fully loaded trailer,” was the verdict of the jury. And “thanks to smart tips, such as weather warnings, details on total elevation gain and incline, as well as GPS navigation on the perfectly readable display, you never feel lost even in the most remote places”.
“We’ve equipped the new Upstreet to a high standard so that it can be ridden perfectly, whether on cobblestone pavements, fully loaded with shopping bags, with a child seat or with a trailer as a nursery shuttle,” says FLYER Product Manager Philipp Suter. “We are delighted that the bike, with its clean design and versatile functionality, has received such praise from the jury of the Design & Innovation Award. It is very important to us to develop high-quality and durable ebikes such as the Upstreet, thereby promoting environmentally friendly mobility.”

New FIT 2.0 technology – intelligent system integration and adaptation to individual riding requirements
FIT 2.0 system integration enables intuitive operation and smart functions such as the individual adjustment of riding modes and GPS navigation. Another new feature is the boost function. This allows the motor to be briefly switched to turbo mode at any assistance level; this can be useful for example when crossing intersections or overcoming steep inclines.
Wide range of models
FLYER offers the Upstreet in a total of eight model variants and three frame shapes (Comfort, Mixed and Gents). These include a crossover version with tires particularly suitable for off-road use and an S-pedelec with pedal assist up to 45 km/h. When it comes to the drive, riders can choose between an internal geared hub with a belt or chain drive or alternatively derailleur gears with a large gear ratio. The Upstreet is available in three attractive frame colors: Frosty Sage, Pulse Red Gloss and Pearl Black Gloss. RRP from EURO 5,199,-.
