Proud to present: ABS for FLYER e-bikes

Bosch eBike ABS FLYER

E-bikes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) are one of this e-bike season's main innovations. You can now test controlled braking with ABS at our FLYER factory in Huttwill.

Enhanced safety and comfort on your tours.

Safety is becoming increasingly important for e-bike riders. However, safety is a decisive factor not only for the riders themselves but also for their environment. The first ABS for e-bikes allows more controlled and more stable braking even in difficult conditions. Our long-standing partner Bosch has been an expert in ABS systems and a market leader in motorbike safety systems for more than 40 years.

How does the new ABS for e-bikes work?

Imagine you are cycling to work on your FLYER e-bike one morning. At a crossroads, a car is driving towards you too fast and you need to brake hard to avoid a collision. Front brake pressure is regulated during difficult braking manoeuvres of this kind, which stabilises the riding situation. Your safety is enhanced through the combination of front wheel ABS and rear wheel lift control - and not only in urban settings. When trekking or mountain biking you can enjoy nature with added safety.

The highlights in a nutshell

Front wheel ABS

High-resolution wheel speed sensors monitor the speed of both wheels. As soon as the front wheel threatens to lock up - for example if the brake is applied too forcefully - the ABS regulates the brake pressure, thus optimising the riding stability and manoeuvrability.

Rear wheel lift control

As soon as the ABS detects that the rear wheel is lifting, the ABS control unit briefly regulates the brake pressure at the front wheel. The rear wheel lift control reduces the probability of the bicycle overturning.

Controlled braking force

Recent years have seen continuous further development of brake systems. Over the past decades, the braking force has increased considerably with cable pull, hydraulic, and disc brakes. The e-bike ABS provides the rider with enhanced safety when handling the braking force.

Come and visit us in Huttwil and test ride a FLYER test bike with ABS.
